International Student Admission Requirements
Application: A completed application form. A housing fee is required if the applicant is seeking campus housing. Early application is encouraged because decisions regarding admission are made on a rolling basis as applications are received.
English Language Scores: Mississippi College considers English language scores from the following tests for admission purposes:
- Test of English as a Foreign Language(TOEFL)
- International English Language Training System(IELTS)
- The Society for Teaching English Proficiency(STEP)
Transfer credits: Transfer from a regionally accredited American college a minimum of 24 hours of academic credit with a GPA of 2.0 or above on a 4.0 point scale.
Financial Statement: A financial statement indicating ability to finance study during one year at Mississippi College with a notarized sponsor statement.
Transcripts: Transcripts of all high school and college grades with literal translations into English. Students attempting to transfer credits received in secondary degrees or courses completed at universities outside the United States must send official transcripts to an MC recognized evaluation service.
Students presenting degrees from international institutions, colleges and universities are expected to submit a course-by-course credential evaluation. The service most often used by Mississippi College is Educational Credential Evaluators, Inc. www.ece.org.
Medical History Form: A medical history form, with proof of immunizations, completed and signed by a physician.
An international student who holds a F-1 student visa is required to carry a full course of study in the fall and spring semesters.
Additional Graduate Admission RequirementsRequirements vary by program. The general requirements common to all degrees are that
- you hold a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
- you have earned a minimum undergraduate grade point average for most graduate degree programs is 2.5 [exceptions: MSCP, EDS].
- your record includes undergraduate foundation courses for the major pursued
- you submit standardized test scores, appropriate for your degree program, at or above the published minimums.
